Fast Hybrid AF combines phase-detection AF with contrast AF. 575 phase detection AF points cover approximately 70.6% of the image area for precise focus even on small or active subjects.

Blackout-free bursts up to 30 fps with AF/AE tracking

Shoot up to 30 fps bursts with full AF/AE tracking and no viewfinder blackout. Up to 60 AF/AE calculations per second ensure that important action can be captured with confidence. Silent shooting allows you to shoot with no shutter sound.

Reliable Real-time Tracking

Real-time Tracking accurately focuses on and tracks a selected subject when the shutter button is half-pressed. If [Touch Tracking] is engaged, touching a subject on the monitor will instantly select it for tracking.

Human pose estimation technology

With an advanced AI processing unit, the RX10 V reliably recognises human eyes as well as body and head position, making it possible to accurately lock onto and track a wide range of subjects, even when the subject faces away from the camera or the face is partially obscured.

Real-time Recognition AF of a wider range of subjects

The enhanced BIONZ XR image processing engine and the AI processing unit have significantly advanced subject recognition. In addition to [Human] and [Animal], the camera can now recognise [Bird], [Insect], [Car/Train], and [Airplane]. A new [Animal/Bird] setting allows recognition of both types without switching, and a new [Auto] mode lets the camera automatically select the subject type.

Active Mode image stabilisation for handheld shooting

Active Mode stabilisation uses highly accurate gyro sensors and optimised image stabilisation algorithms to provide a highly effective blend of electronic and optical stabilisation for video recording, for example for shooting while walking.

Digital audio interface for high quality sound recording

A built-in digital audio interface applied to the Multi Interface (MI) Shoe™ allows connection to compatible Sony microphones (sold separately) for high-quality digital input and recording. Two or four channels can be recorded.

High-frame-rate video recording at up to 4K 120p

High-resolution 1.62 million-dot LCD monitor

The large touch-sensitive high-resolution 3.0-type LCD monitor has approximately 1.62 million dots for accurate viewing and focusing. It also tilts upward and downward for comfortable shooting from a wide range of positions.

3.68 million-dot 0.5-type Quad-VGA OLED viewfinder

A 3.68 million-dot Quad-VGA OLED viewfinder with 0.78x magnification delivers high resolution, high contrast, and easier viewing. The viewfinder frame rate can be set to [Standard] (60 fps) or [High] (120 fps). You can also now save up to three custom settings for shooting information display, and display the histogram and level indicator simultaneously.

Info display adapts to horizontal and vertical orientation

Shooting info shown on the LCD monitor and in the electronic viewfinder automatically adapts to horizontal and vertical camera orientation for maximum legibility and shooting comfort.

Redesigned controls and more natural operating angles bring enhanced comfort and operability.[1] Dual Control Dials: Independently assignable for custom still and video setups. Quicker, More Responsive Focusing

[1] Focus Mode Switch, the position of the focus mode switch has been redesigned from the RX10 IV and relocated to the side of the lens. This change aims to provide an operating feel similar to that of E-mount lenses and improves the responsiveness of the AF/MF switch. [2] Focus Range Limiter for faster focusing You can preset the focus range based on the distance to the subject you want to focus on, enabling faster focusing. The focus range can be set from 3 m to ∞. This is particularly useful when shooting subjects beyond a foreground, such as through a fence during stadium sports, as it prevents the camera from focusing on the fence instead.

Ergonomic grip design minimises fatigue

Based on feedback and α series evolution, we’ve significantly improved the grip contours. Fingers naturally follow the body line, and buttons have been refined for enhanced feel and response.

NP-FZ100 battery provides extended shooting time

Sony’s high-capacity NP-FZ100 battery improves battery life by more than 50% compared to the RX10 IV. USB Power Delivery (PD) is supported, allowing a mobile battery to be connected via the USB Type-C® port for power or charging.

Fast 5 GHz Wi-Fi support

Built-in Wi-Fi has been updated with 5 GHz communication (IEEE 802.11ac) in addition to conventional 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. 5 GHz Wi-Fi offers more stable data transfer with less interference.

Focus, zoom and aperture lens rings for easy operation

The lens is equipped with focus, zoom and aperture rings that are easily operated while looking through the viewfinder. The underside of the aperture ring has convex and concave parts for reliable finger contact. Functions and rotation directions assigned to the zoom and focus rings can be changed as desired. A SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen2) USB Type-C terminal allows fast USB data transfer for PC Remote shooting, power delivery, and image backup. Movie transfer and transfer to memory card are also supported.

Easy live streaming at 4K 30p

In addition to live streaming at up to 4K 30p to a PC via USB (UVC/UAC) connection, you can also stream via wireless or wired LAN49networks. When streaming via LAN, you can simultaneously stream live video at up to 4K 30p and record to the camera’s memory card. Supported protocols include RTMP, RTMPS, and SRT.

Dust and moisture resistant design

Body seams as well as main buttons and dials feature a sealed structure that effectively prevents intrusion of dust and moisture in challenging outdoor conditions.
