Bright F1.8 Aperture

The maximum F1.8 aperture provides strong light-gathering capability for shooting in available light, indoors, during dusk, and in other situations where additional illumination is limited. It also allows photographers to create a relatively shallow depth of field and separate the subject from the background. The nine-blade rounded diaphragm contributes to smooth background rendering and rounded out-of-focus highlights, giving the lens additional flexibility for portraits, detail shots, and creative compositions.

APO Optical Design

The optical system consists of 13 elements in 10 groups, incorporating two ED elements, three high-refractive-index elements, and one UA ultra-precision aspherical element. The internal focusing design keeps the physical length of the lens stable during focusing and avoids rotation of the front element, which is useful when working with filters. The minimum focusing distance is 0.34 m, with a maximum magnification of 0.15x for close-up subjects.

Practical Lens Controls

The EVO design incorporates dedicated physical controls for direct operation. Depending on the compatible mount, the lens provides an aperture ring with CLICK and de-clicked operation, an AF/MF switch, and a customizable Fn button.
