The VILTROX AF 35mm F1.2 LAB Sony E (Non-Display) is a full-frame autofocus prime lens designed for high-resolution photography, portraits, street photography, travel, documentary work and video production. Its 35mm focal length provides a 64.2° angle of view, offering a balanced perspective that captures both the main subject and its surroundings. This makes it particularly suitable for environmental portraits, lifestyle scenes and visual storytelling.

Ultra-Bright F1.2 Aperture

The maximum F1.2 aperture provides a very high level of light transmission and allows the lens to create a shallow depth of field even with its moderately wide 35mm focal length. It is useful for available-light photography, night scenes and indoor shooting, while also providing pronounced subject separation and smooth background rendering. The aperture range extends from F1.2 to F16 and uses an 11-blade diaphragm for rounded, natural-looking out-of-focus highlights.

Flagship Optical Construction

The optical system consists of 15 elements in 10 groups, including five ED elements, three high-refractive-index elements and two ultra-precision aspherical elements. This advanced configuration is designed to maintain high resolution from the center toward the edges of the frame while controlling chromatic aberration, distortion and other optical imperfections. The lens is engineered for high-resolution full-frame sensors and is designed to retain fine textures and micro-contrast even when shooting wide open at F1.2.

Floating Focus System

The lens uses a dual floating internal focusing system that moves separate focusing groups to maintain optical performance across the focusing range. The minimum focusing distance is approximately 0.34 m and the maximum magnification is 0.17×, allowing the lens to handle both close-up details and distant subjects. Internal focusing keeps the external dimensions unchanged during focusing and contributes to stable handling.

Quad HyperVCM Autofocus

Autofocus is driven by Viltrox's Quad HyperVCM system, using four voice-coil motors for fast and precise movement of the focusing groups. The system is designed for responsive autofocus in both still photography and video, with support for face and eye detection on compatible Sony cameras. Quiet operation and internal focusing also make the lens suitable for focus transitions and other video applications where minimizing mechanical noise is important.

Professional Metal Construction

The non-display version retains the robust construction of the LAB series while removing the integrated electronic lens display. The lens uses an aerospace-grade full-metal body with weather-sealed construction for resistance against dust and splashes. The front optical element features a water- and stain-resistant coating, while the approximately 910 g weight reflects the large F1.2 optical system and professional mechanical construction. The lens measures approximately 89.2 mm in diameter and 121.8 mm in length.

Mechanical Controls and Connectivity

The AF 35mm F1.2 LAB N FE uses a physical multifunction ring and two customizable Fn buttons, together with an AF/MF switch. The aperture ring supports both clicked and de-clicked operation, allowing it to be adapted to still photography or video work. Unlike the standard LAB FE version, the Non-Display model uses a conventional aperture ring without an electronic display, giving the lens a more straightforward mechanical interface. A 77 mm filter thread, USB-C firmware-update port and EXIF communication provide additional practical functionality for professional workflows.
