The Classic 85mm, Reimagined

The 85mm focal length is a timeless portrait classic, and the VILTROX AF 85mm F1.4 Pro elevates it with a distinctly professional approach. Natural perspective, elegant compression and exceptional subject separation come together to create images with presence, depth and unmistakable visual character.

Designed for full-frame Sony E and Nikon Z cameras, this is a lens built for portraits, fashion, weddings, events and any scene where the subject deserves to take center stage.

F1.4 — Light, Depth and Emotion

The impressive F1.4 maximum aperture opens the door to outstanding low-light performance and beautifully shallow depth of field. At wide apertures, the background melts away with a smooth, cinematic character, allowing the subject to dominate the frame.

Whether shooting in natural evening light, a dimly lit interior or a carefully controlled studio, F1.4 gives photographers the freedom to work creatively while preserving atmosphere and dimensionality.

15 Elements in 11 Groups

The optical design combines 15 elements in 11 groups, including 3 ED elements, 9 high-refractive-index elements and 1 ultra-precision aspherical element. This sophisticated construction is engineered for high resolution, controlled chromatic aberration and impressive image clarity.

The result is a refined balance between technical precision and an organic rendering style — crisp where detail matters, yet beautifully expressive in the areas that fall out of focus.

Dreamy 11-Blade Bokeh

An 11-blade aperture helps create exceptionally smooth, rounded out-of-focus highlights. Combined with the F1.4 aperture and 85mm compression, the lens produces a luxurious separation between subject and background.

Skin tones, hair, fabrics and fine details remain beautifully defined while distant backgrounds transform into a soft visual atmosphere — a signature look for premium portrait photography.

HyperVCM Autofocus

The VILTROX Dual HyperVCM autofocus system delivers fast and responsive focusing for both photography and video. Internal focusing keeps the lens barrel stable during operation, while AF/MF control provides quick adaptation to different shooting styles.

Eye and face detection support modern mirrorless workflows, helping photographers stay focused on composition and the decisive moment rather than manual focusing.

Professional Optical Character

The AF 85mm F1.4 Pro is designed to deliver high resolution and strong contrast across the frame, with carefully controlled optical aberrations. Its rendering is particularly well suited to portraits where fine detail and natural subject separation need to coexist.

At the same time, the lens retains an attractive visual character rather than feeling purely clinical — an important quality for fashion, editorial and cinematic imagery.

Professional Controls

A physical aperture ring provides direct control over exposure and creative depth of field, with click/de-click functionality for photography and video applications. AF/MF switching and a focus-hold control add practical flexibility during demanding shoots.

USB-C connectivity allows firmware updates, helping the lens remain compatible with evolving camera systems and shooting workflows.

Built for Professional Work

The robust full-metal construction gives the lens a substantial, premium feel, while comprehensive dust and moisture sealing makes it suitable for demanding shooting environments. A water-repellent front element adds another layer of practical protection when working outdoors.

At approximately 800g, this is a serious professional optic with a substantial presence — a deliberate choice for photographers who value optical performance and build quality.

Portraits with Authority

From intimate headshots to fashion editorials, wedding portraits and environmental photography, the 85mm perspective gives subjects a natural appearance while creating elegant background compression.

The VILTROX AF 85mm F1.4 Pro is more than another fast portrait lens. It is a statement-making optic designed to give professional images the depth, atmosphere and visual impact that make a portrait unforgettable.
