Sony BC-TRV Battery Charger

Dedicated charging for Sony InfoLITHIUM batteries

The Sony BC-TRV is a compact battery charger designed for compatible Sony InfoLITHIUM lithium-ion batteries. It supports batteries from the V, H and P series, providing a convenient charging solution for compatible Handycam camcorders and other Sony equipment. Its straightforward design makes it suitable for everyday use, travel and keeping spare batteries ready for photography or video recording.

Compatibility with V, H and P series batteries

The BC-TRV supports selected Sony battery packs, including models such as the NP-FV30, NP-FV50, NP-FV70, NP-FV100 and NP-FH50. This compatibility makes it useful for users who own compatible Sony camcorders or maintain multiple batteries for longer recording sessions. Before use, check the exact battery model, as the charger is intended only for supported InfoLITHIUM batteries and is not designed for nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride batteries.

Charging performance and output

The charger provides an output of 8.4 V DC at 400 mA, delivering power to compatible battery packs through its dedicated charging terminal. This charging specification is designed for supported Sony batteries and provides a straightforward way to replenish their charge between recording sessions. Charging time depends on battery capacity, its remaining charge, temperature and overall condition.

Three-step LED charging indicator

An integrated three-step LED indicator provides a visual reference for the charging process. This helps users check charging progress without needing a digital display or additional equipment. The indicator makes the charger easy to monitor at home, in a studio or while travelling, helping users determine when a battery is still charging and when the process has finished.

Universal AC input for travel

The BC-TRV supports an AC input range of 100–240 V at 50/60 Hz, allowing it to operate with compatible mains supplies in many countries. Its universal voltage support is particularly useful for travellers and videographers who work across different regions. A suitable local plug or power connection may be required depending on the regional version.

Compact and lightweight construction

Measuring approximately 42 × 32 × 76 mm and weighing around 57–61 g depending on the specification reference, the BC-TRV is easy to carry in a camera bag or accessory pouch. Its compact body takes up little space alongside a camcorder, batteries and other essential equipment. This makes it a practical choice for travel, everyday storage and lightweight video kits.

A practical charger for compatible Sony equipment

The Sony BC-TRV offers a simple charging solution for users of compatible Sony InfoLITHIUM V, H and P series batteries. Its small dimensions, universal AC input and clear LED status indicator make it convenient for maintaining charged batteries between shoots. Before purchasing, confirm compatibility with the exact battery model and check the included accessories, as plug configuration and package contents may vary by region.
