Xperia 1 VI is now compatible with Wi-Fi 7 with software update. Wi-Fi 7 achieves faster communication and more stable connectivity, offering next-level connections. It will deliver smoother streaming, faster gaming, and lag-free video calls. Wi-Fi 7 incorporates advanced technologies to achieve faster communication, offering approximately 30% faster speeds compared to Wi-Fi 6E. Additionally, new features such as Multi-Link Operation (MLO) enable simultaneous use of two frequency bands, which is expected to improve communication latency and stability.

Perfect your pics in Google Photos with AI-powered editing tools like Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and more. Sony is pleased to announce that owners of the Xperia 1, 5 and 10 series are now able to access these features using the Google Photos app.

The camera array includes a wide-angle 24 mm lens paired with the Exmor T™ for mobile sensor, a new 48 mm focal length, an ultra-wide 16 mm lens, and a new extended 85-170 mm optical telephoto lens. All offer 4K HDR 120fps video recording , Real-time Eye AF1, Real-time tracking and ZEISS T* anti-reflective coating, which contributes to the superior optical quality of images by minimizing unwanted lens effects such as reflections. A 12MP front camera completes the camera set-up.

The Xperia 1 VI packaging uses Sony's OBM (Original Blended Material), which is made from bamboo, sugarcane fibres, and recycled paper, all of which are readily available around the world's largest manufacturing hubs in Asia. The Xperia factory is also located in Asia, meaning that the device production is closer to the OBM resources, reducing the transport carbon print.

We're making packaging environmentally conscious

As part of our environmentally conscious initiative drive, the Xperia 1 VI packaging has eliminated plastic components or replaced them with paper materials. We've also made the packaging slim and compact.

We're using more recycled plastic

More than 85 of the Xperia 1 VI's plastic parts are made from recycled materials. One of those materials is SORPLAS™, developed by Sony. SORPLAS™ is a recycled plastic with the environment in mind, that offers high performance, making it ideal for our new products.
