Lens Mount Adapter for Sony E-Mount Cameras

Electronic Communication Between Lens and Camera
The adapter transfers electronic information between the lens and camera, supporting functions such as aperture control and automatic exposure on compatible combinations. It also communicates lens information to the camera, allowing details such as focal length and aperture settings to be recorded in image metadata. Autofocus Support for Compatible Lenses
The MC-11 is designed to support autofocus with compatible lenses. Sigma states that lenses used with camera bodies featuring Fast Hybrid AF can provide fast and smooth autofocus in AF-S mode, while other compatible bodies may use contrast-detection autofocus. Autofocus speed, tracking performance, and available focus modes vary according to the lens and camera combination, so the adapter should not be assumed to provide identical performance to a native Sony E-mount lens.

Support for Optical Stabilisation and Image Corrections
When the attached lens and camera support the relevant functions, the MC-11 can work with optical stabilisation and camera-based stabilisation systems. It also supports compatible camera functions for peripheral illumination correction, transverse chromatic aberration correction, and distortion correction. The availability of these features depends on the connected equipment and the correction data supported by the adapter.

Firmware Updates and Compatibility Indicator
An integrated LED indicator helps communicate the compatibility status of an attached lens and whether an update to the adapter's lens-control data may be required. Firmware updates are available through Sigma Optimization Pro using a compatible computer connection. Keeping the adapter and lens firmware up to date can improve compatibility with supported lenses and address certain operational issues. Sigma maintains separate compatibility information for lenses and camera bodies, which should be checked before use.

Compact Construction and Practical Limitations
The MC-11 measures approximately 69.4 mm in diameter and 26 mm in length, with a weight of around 125 g. Its interior flocking helps reduce internal reflections, while its construction offers some protection against dust and splashes but is not waterproof. The adapter is not compatible with teleconverters, and operation is not guaranteed for lenses outside Sigma's compatibility list. Before purchase, confirm the correct mount version and check the compatibility of the exact lens and Sony camera body.
